Jesus Name

The name JESUS means literally “Jehovah saves”.   God visited the Gentiles and took out of them a people for His name, a people to manifest God’s character on the Earth.  We are baptized into the name of Jesus and His Holy Spirit enters our heart and conceives a new man within us in the image of Him, holy and righteous.

Peter healed the lame man, it was not because of the words he spoke, but because Peter was himself in the name of Jesus and had the authority to call upon His power.  The disciples did manifest the character of God through the name and authority of Jesus Christ which is mercy and salvation.

We are called to manifest the character of God through the name and authority of our Lord Jesus Christ.   The ones who overcome are given a new name, they are given a new character which is the full-grown maturity of our new man in Christ

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.  (7)  And he took him by the right hand, and raised him up: and immediately his feet and his ankle-bones received strength.  (8)  And leaping up, he stood, and began to walk; and he entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

Act 19:11-17 RV  And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:  (12)  insomuch that unto the sick were carried away from his body handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out.  (13)  But certain also of the strolling Jews, exorcists, took upon them to name over them which had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.  (14)  And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, a chief priest, which did this.  (15)  And the evil spirit answered and said unto them, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?  (16)  And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and mastered both of them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.  (17)  And this became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, that dwelt at Ephesus; and fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
