Believe

Believe

We must hear the Lord, understand His words and believe on the Father who moves us from death to life.  Jesus came preaching the good news that God has made a way for us.  In this world, we often face bad news and discouragement, but Jesus tells us, do not be afraid, only have faith.  We trust in the Lord, He is faithful.

If we are in Christ and believe then we can do anything, especially when doing the works of God.  The Lord gives us what we steadfastly believe, but first we must forgive others.  When we believe the full gospel of Christ, not only are we saved, but signs will follow us as we do His work.

When we believe on Jesus name, we are born of God.  We now have the right to become one of His children.  We follow in the steps of faithful Abraham hearing and believing the precious promises of God whereby we can walk in the righteousness that is by faith which brings us to life eternal.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

(Joh 5:24-25)

We must hear the Lord, understand His words and believe on the Father who moves us from death to life.

From G3982; persuasion, that is, credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly constancy in such profession; by extension the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself: – assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity.

G3982             peithō              pi’-tho

Mar 1:14-15 RV  Now after that John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God,  (15)  and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe in the gospel.

Jesus came preaching the good news that God has made a way for us.

Mar 5:35-36 Weymouth  While He is yet speaking, men come from the house to the Warden, and say, “Your daughter is dead: why trouble the Rabbi further?”  (36)  But Jesus, overhearing the words, said to the Warden, “Do not be afraid; only have faith.”

In this world, we often face bad news and discouragement, but Jesus tells us, do not be afraid, only have faith.  We trust in the Lord, He is faithful.

Mar 9:20-27 Weymouth  So they brought him to Jesus. And the spirit, when he saw Jesus, immediately threw the youth into convulsions, so that he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth.  (21)  Then Jesus asked the father, “How long has he been like this?” “From early childhood,” he said;  (22)  “and often it has thrown him into the fire or into pools of water to destroy him. But, if you possibly can, have pity on us and help us.”  (23)  “‘If I possibly can!'” replied Jesus; “why, everything is possible to him who believes.”  (24)  Immediately the father cried out, “I do believe: strengthen my weak faith.”  (25)  Then Jesus, seeing that an increasing crowd was running towards Him, rebuked the foul spirit, and said to it, “Dumb and deaf spirit, *I* command you, come out of him and never enter into him again.”  (26)  So with a loud cry he threw the boy into fit after fit, and came out. The boy looked as if he were dead, so that most of them said he was dead;  (27)  but Jesus took his hand and raised him up, and he stood on his feet.

If we are in Christ and believe then we can do anything, especially when doing the works of God.

Mar 11:22-25 Weymouth  Jesus said to them, “Have faith in God.  (23)  In solemn truth I tell you that if any one shall say to this mountain, ‘Remove, and hurl thyself into the sea,’ and has no doubt about it in his heart, but stedfastly believes that what he says will happen, it shall be granted him.  (24)  That is why I tell you, as to whatever you pray and make request for, if you believe that you have received it it shall be yours.  (25)  But whenever you stand praying, if you have a grievance against any one, forgive it, so that your Father in Heaven may also forgive you your offences.”

The Lord gives us what we steadfastly believe, but first we must forgive others.

Mar 16:15-18 Weymouth  Then He said to them, “Go the whole world over, and proclaim the Good News to all mankind.  (16)  He who believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he who disbelieves will be condemned.  (17)  And signs shall attend those who believe, even such as these. By making use of my name they shall expel demons. They shall speak new languages.  (18)  They shall take up venomous snakes, and if they drink any deadly poison it shall do them no harm whatever. They shall lay their hands on the sick, and the sick shall recover.”

When we believe the full gospel of Christ, not only are we saved, but signs will follow us as we do His work.

Joh 1:10-13 RV  He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.  (11)  He came unto his own, and they that were his own received him not.  (12)  But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name:  (13)  which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

When we believe on Jesus name, we are born of God.  We now have the right to become one of His children.

Rom 4:3-25 RV  For what saith the scripture? And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness.  (4)  Now to him that worketh, the reward is not reckoned as of grace, but as of debt.  (5)  But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is reckoned for righteousness.  (6)  Even as David also pronounceth blessing upon the man, unto whom God reckoneth righteousness apart from works,  (7)  saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, And whose sins are covered.  (8)  Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not reckon sin.  (9)  Is this blessing then pronounced upon the circumcision, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say, To Abraham his faith was reckoned for righteousness.  (10)  How then was it reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision:  (11)  and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while he was in uncircumcision: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be in uncircumcision, that righteousness might be reckoned unto them;  (12)  and the father of circumcision to them who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham which he had in uncircumcision.  (13)  For not through the law was the promise to Abraham or to his seed, that he should be heir of the world, but through the righteousness of faith.  (14)  For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise is made of none effect:  (15)  for the law worketh wrath; but where there is no law, neither is there transgression.  (16)  For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace; to the end that the promise may be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all  (17)  (as it is written, A father of many nations have I made thee) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth the things that are not, as though they were.  (18)  Who in hope believed against hope, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, So shall thy seed be.  (19)  And without being weakened in faith he considered his own body now as good as dead (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb:  (20)  yea, looking unto the promise of God, he wavered not through unbelief, but waxed strong through faith, giving glory to God,  (21)  and being fully assured that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.  (22)  Wherefore also it was reckoned unto him for righteousness.  (23)  Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was reckoned unto him;  (24)  but for our sake also, unto whom it shall be reckoned, who believe on him that raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,  (25)  who was delivered up for our trespasses, and was raised for our justification.

We follow in the steps of faithful Abraham hearing and believing the precious promises of God whereby we can walk in the righteousness that is by faith which brings us to life eternal.
