Reward of the Faithful

The Lord preserves and rewards the faithful.  If we want more from the Lord, we must remain watchful and be faithful with what the Lord has given us.  When we serve the Lord, He grants us to eat from His tree, the tree of life.  Live joyfully the life the Lord has given you and whatever you do, do it with all your might.

If we seek the Lord’s riches, we must be faithful in every little thing.  It is God that rewards us so whatever you do, do it unto the Lord.  We must faithfully grow and develop what the Lord has given us while we wait for His return.  When we put God first and seek His kingdom, He gives us all we need and more.

When we delight ourselves in the Lord, He gives us new desires which He then fulfills.  Let us endeavor to sow that spiritual seed that will in due season produce eternal life.

Psa 31:23-24 RV  O love the LORD, all ye his saints: the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.  (24)  Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all ye that hope in the LORD.

The Lord preserves and rewards the faithful.

Luk 12:35-48 RV  Let your loins be girded about, and your lamps burning;  (36)  and be ye yourselves like unto men looking for their lord, when he shall return from the marriage feast; that, when he cometh and knocketh, they may straightway open unto him.  (37)  Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them sit down to meat, and shall come and serve them.  (38)  And if he shall come in the second watch, and if in the third, and find them so, blessed are those servants.  (39)  But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not have left his house to be broken through.  (40)  Be ye also ready: for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh.  (41)  And Peter said, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even unto all?  (42)  And the Lord said, Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall set over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?  (43)  Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.  (44)  Of a truth I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he hath.  (45)  But if that servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;  (46)  the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not, and shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the unfaithful.  (47)  And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and made not ready, nor did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes;  (48)  but he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And to whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required: and to whom they commit much, of him will they ask the more.

If we want more from the Lord, we must remain watchful and be faithful with what the Lord has given us.

Pro 27:18 RV  Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof; and he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.

When we serve the Lord, He grants us to eat from His tree, the tree of life.

Ecc 9:7-10 RV  Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God hath already accepted thy works.  (8)  Let thy garments be always white; and let not thy head lack ointment.  (9)  Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in life, and in thy labour wherein thou labourest under the sun.  (10)  Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Live joyfully the life the Lord has given you and whatever you do, do it with all your might.

Luk 16:1-12 RV  And he said also unto the disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he was wasting his goods.  (2)  And he called him, and said unto him, What is this that I hear of thee? render the account of thy stewardship; for thou canst be no longer steward.  (3)  And the steward said within himself, What shall I do, seeing that my lord taketh away the stewardship from me? I have not strength to dig; to beg I am ashamed.  (4)  I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.  (5)  And calling to him each one of his lord’s debtors, he said to the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?  (6)  And he said, A hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bond, and sit down quickly and write fifty.  (7)  Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, A hundred measures of wheat. He saith unto him, Take thy bond, and write fourscore.  (8)  And his lord commended the unrighteous steward because he had done wisely: for the sons of this world are for their own generation wiser than the sons of the light.  (9)  And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends by means of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when it shall fail, they may receive you into the eternal tabernacles.  (10)  He that is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much: and he that is unrighteous in a very little is unrighteous also in much.  (11)  If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?  (12)  And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?

If we seek the Lord’s riches, we must be faithful in every little thing.

Col 3:22-24 RV  Servants, obey in all things them that are your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord:  (23)  whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men;  (24)  knowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance: ye serve the Lord Christ.

It is God that rewards us so whatever you do, do it unto the Lord.

Luk 19:11-26 RV  And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they supposed that the kingdom of God was immediately to appear.  (12)  He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country, to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.  (13)  And he called ten servants of his, and gave them ten pounds, and said unto them, Trade ye herewith till I come.  (14)  But his citizens hated him, and sent an ambassage after him, saying, We will not that this man reign over us.  (15)  And it came to pass, when he was come back again, having received the kingdom, that he commanded these servants, unto whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by trading.  (16)  And the first came before him, saying, Lord, thy pound hath made ten pounds more.  (17)  And he said unto him, Well done, thou good servant: because thou wast found faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.  (18)  And the second came, saying, Thy pound, Lord, hath made five pounds.  (19)  And he said unto him also, Be thou also over five cities.  (20)  And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I kept laid up in a napkin:  (21)  for I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.  (22)  He saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I am an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow;  (23)  then wherefore gavest thou not my money into the bank, and I at my coming should have required it with interest?  (24)  And he said unto them that stood by, Take away from him the pound, and give it unto him that hath the ten pounds.  (25)  And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.  (26)  I say unto you, that unto every one that hath shall be given; but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away from him.

We must faithfully grow and develop what the Lord has given us while we wait for His return.

Luk 12:27-31 RV  Consider the lilies, how they grow: they toil not, neither do they spin; yet I say unto you, Even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  (28)  But if God doth so clothe the grass in the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more shall he clothe you, O ye of little faith?  (29)  And seek not ye what ye shall eat, and what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.  (30)  For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: but your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.  (31)  Howbeit seek ye his kingdom, and these things shall be added unto you.

When we put God first and seek His kingdom, He gives us all we need and more.

Psa 37:3-5 RV  Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land, and follow after faithfulness.  (4)  Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.  (5)  Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass.

When we delight ourselves in the Lord, He gives us new desires which He then fulfills.

Psa 37:21-25 RV  The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous dealeth graciously, and giveth.  (22)  For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the land; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.  (23)  A man’s goings are established of the LORD; and he delighteth in his way.  (24)  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.  (25)  I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging their bread.

When we deal righteously the Lord holds us up, even when we fall.

Gal 6:7-9 RV  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  (8)  For he that soweth unto his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth unto the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life.  (9)  And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Let us endeavor to sow that spiritual seed that will in due season produce eternal life.
