Oh Lord, let us always drink that living water out of the wells of salvation. The words of the righteous are a well of life. When the Lord gives us understanding we can drink more deeply of that living water. The twelve wells of water represent the twelve apostles and the seventy palm trees represents the seventy elders. Isaac dug wells of water and became very great, we need to dig our own wells.
Jesus likens the Holy Spirit to a well of water springing up unto eternal life. When we believe on Jesus we can become a veritable fountain of living water. The broken cisterns represents man-made religions and systematized deceptions which hold no life.
Let your fountain be blessed and may you ever drink the water of life from the wells of salvation.
Isa 12:2-3 RV Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and song; and he is become my salvation. (3) Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
Oh Lord, let us always drink that living water out of the wells of salvation.
Pro 10:11 KJV The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
The words of the righteous are a well of life.
Pro 16:22-23 KJV Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly. (23) The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.
When the Lord gives us understanding we can drink more deeply of that living water.
Pro 18:4 KJV The words of a man’s mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.
Exo 15:27 KJV And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.
Gen 26:12-19 KJV Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. (13) And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: (14) For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him. (15) For all the wells which his father’s servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth. (16) And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we. (17) And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there. (18) And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them. (19) And Isaac’s servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.
Isaac dug wells of water and became very great, we need to dig our own wells.
Joh 4:10-14 RV Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. (11) The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? (12) Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his sons, and his cattle? (13) Jesus answered and said unto her, Every one that drinketh of this water shall thirst again: (14) but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up unto eternal life.
Jesus likens the Holy Spirit to a well of water springing up unto eternal life.
Joh 7:37-39 RV Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. (38) He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (39) But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive: for the Spirit was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet glorified.
When we believe on Jesus we can become a veritable fountain of living water.
Pro 25:14 RV As clouds and wind without rain, so is he that boasteth himself of his gifts falsely.
2Pe 2:10-22 KJV But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. (11) Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord. (12) But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; (13) And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; (14) Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: (15) Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; (16) But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet. (17) These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. (18) For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. (19) While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. (20) For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. (21) For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. (22) But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
Boasting great swelling words of vanity makes us wells without water.
Jer 2:11-13 RV Hath a nation changed their gods, which yet are no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit. (12) Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD. (13) For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
The broken cisterns represents man-made religions and systematized deceptions which hold no life.
Pro 5:15-18 KJV Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. (16) Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets. (17) Let them be only thine own, and not strangers’ with thee. (18) Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
Let your fountain be blessed and may you ever drink the water of life from the wells of salvation.
