There is a day of the Lord coming, with wrath and fierce anger to destroy the sinners out of the land. Alas! For the day of the Lord is come upon us, sanctify a fast, cry unto the Lord than he may keep us safe while He destroys the wicked.
When the day of the Lord comes, we must enter into the rock and that rock is Christ, who is our Rock. We must be in Christ. He has put in His sickle to judge all the nations of the earth, but the Lord will be a refuge to His people.
Many have desired the day of the Lord, but that day is darkness, not light. Judgement has come upon the world; nations, companies, people who reject God and after it shall be as though they had not been.
The day of the Lord came upon Israel in 70 AD with the destruction of Jerusalem and Israel, but it comes again whenever the Lord deems it time for judgement. Men try to hide themselves in their religious organizations (mountains & caves) but the wicked will not escape judgement.
Isa 13:6-9 RV Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; as destruction from the Almighty shall it come. (7) Therefore shall all hands be feeble, and every heart of man shall melt: (8) and they shall be dismayed; pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman in travail: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be faces of flame. (9) Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger; to make the land a desolation, and to destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
Joe 1:14-20 RV Sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the old men and all the inhabitants of the land unto the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD. (15) Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as destruction from the Almighty shall it come, (16) Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God? (17) The seeds rot under their clods; the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered. (18) How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate. (19) O LORD, to thee do I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field. (20) Yea, the beasts of the field pant unto thee: for the water brooks are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
Isa 2:10-17 RV Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty. (11) The lofty looks of man shall be brought low, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. (12) For there shall be a day of the LORD of hosts upon all that is proud and haughty, and upon all that is lifted up; and it shall be brought low: (13) and upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan; (14) and upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up; (15) and upon every lofty tower, and upon every fenced wall; (16) and upon all the ships of Tarshish; and upon all pleasant imagery. (17) And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
Joe 3:12-16 RV Let the nations bestir themselves, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the nations round about. (13) Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, tread ye; for the winepress is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great. (14) Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. (15) The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining. (16) And the LORD shall roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake, but the LORD will be a refuge unto his people, and a strong hold to the children of Israel.
Amo 5:18-21 RV Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! wherefore would ye have the day of the LORD? it is darkness, and not light. (19) As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. (20) Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it? (21) I hate, I despise your feasts, and I will take no delight in your solemn assemblies.
Many have desired the day of the Lord, but that day is darkness, not light.
Oba 1:15-17 RV For the day of the LORD is near upon all the nations: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee; thy dealing shall return upon thine own head. (16) For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the nations drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and swallow down, and shall be as though they had not been. (17) But in mount Zion there shall be those that escape, and it shall be holy; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
Zep 1:4-8 RV And I will stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarim with the priests; (5) and them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship, which swear to the LORD and swear by Malcam; (6) and them that are turned back from following the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor inquired after him. (7) Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath sanctified his guests. (8) And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD’S sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king’s sons, and all such as are clothed with foreign apparel.
His judgement comes upon those that have not sought the Lord, seek the Lord while He may be found.
Zep 1:14-18 RV The great day of the LORD is near, it is near and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD; the mighty man crieth there bitterly. (15) That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, (16) a day of the trumpet and alarm, against the fenced cities, and against the high battlements. (17) And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as dung. (18) Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make an end, yea, a terrible end, of all them that dwell in the land.
Zep 2:1-3 RV Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation that hath no shame; (2) before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD’S anger come upon you. (3) Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’S anger.
Seek the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, seek righteousness and the kingdom of heaven that you may be hid in the day of His wrath.
Zec 14:1-3 RV Behold, a day of the LORD cometh, when thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. (2) For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished: and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. (3) Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
Mal 4:5-6 RV Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of the LORD come. (6) And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers; lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
1Th 5:1-3 RV But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that aught be written unto you. (2) For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. (3) When they are saying, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall in no wise escape.
Most people expect the day of the Lord at the end of the age, but that sudden destructive judgement will not wait..
Rev 6:12-17 RV And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the whole moon became as blood; (13) and the stars of the heaven fell unto the earth, as a fig tree casteth her unripe figs, when she is shaken of a great wind. (14) And the heaven was removed as a scroll when it is rolled up; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. (15) And the kings of the earth, and the princes, and the chief captains, and the rich, and the strong, and every bondman and freeman, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains; (16) and they say to the mountains and to the rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: (17) for the great day of their wrath is come; and who is able to stand?
