Jesus tells us we will be perfect or complete, full grown. If we would be complete in the Lord, we must dedicate our lives to him and obey His leading. Paul admonishes us to be perfect or mature in the Lord. The scriptures were given us so we could be perfect or complete in Christ.
He gave us the five-fold ministry; apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to help us all grow unto the fulness of Christ, our completeness. We preach, warn and teach so that every man/woman may be perfect or complete in Christ. He gave us the six foundation teachings; faith towards God, baptisms, repentance, laying on of hands, resurrections and eternal judgement so we can all press on unto perfection or completion in Christ.
If we can control the words of our mouth, then we can be perfect. When we put on love, it helps us grow into our perfection. If we trust Him and remain steadfast in Christ He will perfect us that we may all grow into all of His fullness.
Mat 5:43-48 RV Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy: (44) but I say unto you, Love your enemies, and pray for them that persecute you; (45) that ye may be sons of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust. When we put on love, it helps us grow into our perfection.
